December 2, 1916


Drill first thing this morning. Got issued with old clothes and waterproof sheets.

Dismissed at 3 o’clock. Went to Folkestone.

  2. Cheryl, thanks for the help with the writing! I’m not sure that the word before clothes is “good”, but I’ve put that in until we can find anything that seems to match better.

    I’m not so sure about “good”. Maybe “odd” (ie non-standard), or might be some abbreviation. Looks like it might be “ocd”.

  4. With a bit of consultation from my other half, who was in the army, it looks like “with old”, which he said would make sense if they were starting into a few weeks of training.
