Wednesday [East Sandling]

On parade all day. Very cold & windy but bright. Went to YMCA at night. Haven’t had any letters for several days.

    With the frequency of letters noted in the diary, going a few days without must have seemed terribly cut off from family.

  2. True. Also, he probably knows that he’s close to getting shipped over to France, so feeling the need to connect.
