Parade & lecture in morning. Went to Le Havre in afternoon. Sent Req [?] letter for watch. Bright & quite mild, rained at night.

  2. Could be – I was thinking that it was an adjective describing “letter”, but your interpretation makes sense, too.

    Could it be “req” letter as in requisition?

    Did he send a “registered” letter? Maybe requesting his watch that he left in Paris, be returned to him?
