Bright & warm today. On same job. Large draft of S.A. natives went off also ASC. No letters yet from home.

    Is the first ??? the word natives ? This is a very interested look into our nation’s history from a very personal point of view, and though you’ve probably done this for personal/family reasons I find it very moving and interesting! Thank you!

    Also “ASC”? Maybe another group designation that went “off”? Wasn’t there an abbrev like that earlier in the diary?
