Sunday

Got up at 6 o’clock. Went to right of Hornoy [-le-Bourg?] with load then back to column. Had breakfast then left for Saleux rail head. Loaded and went back to column. Parked at col. all night. Slept in barn.

  1. Could those “Colum” be “column” – he’s inconsistent about his capitalization, and didn’t they refer to sections of troops as columns? Just a thought.

  2. Nigel Thomas says:

I thought that too, for what it’s worth

    Regards Nigel

  3. I was thinking that as well, especially since I couldn’t find anything on the map in that area that remotely matched, name-wise.
