No train today Thursday Waited all day for train but it didn’t come. Got paid today. Went downtown at night. No mail today. Wrote home for leave money. H. Lyons went on leave today. Advertisements

October 30, 1918

Aniche Wednesday Went to railhead about 11.30. Got back at 2.30. Went for a walk. Went to 16th Batt. concert at night. No mail today. Cpl Hubbard went on leave today.

Aniche Tuesday On guard this morning. Went to railhead about 11 o’clock. Got back at 3 o’clock. Nice and mild today. Got 2 letters from Canada.

Aniche Monday Left camp about 12.30 for railhead. Got back about 6.30. Move in billet today. Straightened up at night. No mail today. Warned for guard.

Monchecourt Sunday Left camp about 11 o’clock. Went to Oisy-le-Verger but no train there so came back to Monchecourt. Got back about 6 o’clock. Read in evening No mail today.

Sauchy-Cauchy Saturday Went to Oisy-le-Verger but train not there so went on to next village. Got back about six o’clock. Wrote letters in evening.

Oisy-le-Verger Friday Left Somain for railhead at 11.30. Got back about 5 o’clock. Fritz shelling near here today but nothing dangerous. Got a letter from Jerry & papers from home. Wrote letters at night.
