November 30, 1918

Saturday [Ampsin] Left for Huy Hanilo [?]. Got there about 12 o’clock, our park [?] taken so we moved to Ampsion. Got nice billet for five. No train since Thursday. Got two letters both from France [?] today. Advertisements

November 29, 1918

Friday Wanfercée-Baulet Went to Auvelais and loaded train. Got back about 3 o’clock. Went for a walk at night. Got called at 2 a.m. to move but it was cancelled till 6.30 tomorrow morning.

November 28, 1918

Thursday [Wanfercée-Baulet, Belgium] Waited till 2.30 for train today then packed up and moved to Mons. Got there about 6 o’clock. Left again about 8 o’clock and went to Wanfercée-Baulet. Got there about 2 o’clock. Got papers today.

Wednesday Waited all day for the train but it didn’t come. Expect to move as soon as it comes in. Wrote letters at night. Got paid today 70 Francs.

Valenciennes Tuesday Went to railhead at 1.30. Finished train and then put on a load of coal. Got back about 5.30. Wrote letters at night. No mail today. Expect to move sometime tomorrow.

Valenciennes Monday Went to railhead at 1.30. Got through about 5.30. Got four letters today. Wrote letters at night. No mail today.

November 24, 1918

Val XX Sunday Went to railhead after waiting all day at 6.30. Got back about 10.30. Went down to the square in afternoon. Band playing most of the afternoon. No mail today. Column moved to Mons [Belgium] early this morning.

XX Val Saturday Went to railhead at 1.30 am for today’s train. Very late. Expected it all day. Got one letter today from home. Wrote letters in afternoon.

Valenciennes Friday Went to train at 6 o’clock. Got back at nine. Went to today’s train about 2 o’clock. Got through at six. Took a load of coal from railhead to cookhouse. Went to bed early. No mail today.

Thursday Waited all day for the train but it didn’t come till 10 o’clock so we didn’t unload. Wrote letters & went for a walk. No mail today.
