1919 Begins

cover 1

The armistice was signed seven weeks before, but my grandfather’s war is still not over as of the beginning of 1919 — in fact, since the signing of the armistice in November, he moved from behind the front lines in Belgium into Germany.

I’ve looked ahead in the journal, and rest assured that he does make it home soon, just in time for his birthday in May. I haven’t read all of the entries yet, and I’m looking forward to completing this journey.
